FAQS

What is the Mercedes-Benz DC Fast Charging Adapter?

An adapter is needed to charge your Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle at Supercharger stations. The adapter, approved by Mercedes-Benz, connects the NACS-equipped charging cable to the CCS1 port on your Mercedes-Benz EV and is used ONLY for DC fast-charging. The adapter is rated for 500 amps/1000 volts. Please read the User Manual before use. Do not use the adapter for AC charging (ex. home wallbox or Level 2 public charger). Mercedes-Benz has extensively evaluated and tested the recommended adapter to ensure the safety of use and its compatibility with your vehicle. Mercedes-Benz does not approve or endorse other aftermarket adapters. Customers may purchase the approved adapter through a Mercedes-Benz dealer. Any vehicle damage that is the result of using a non-approved adapter may not be covered under your vehicle's warranty.

How do I purchase the Mercedes-Benz Fast Charging Adapter?

Mercedes-Benz EV drivers will be notified in early 2025 when adapters are available to purchase through an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. The retail price of the Mercedes-Benz Fast Charging Adapter is $185 MSRP. Before you get the adapter, your dealer will also inform you if your vehicle requires a software update in order to use Plug & Charge at Supercharger stations.

How do I charge my all-electric Mercedes-Benz using a Supercharger?

The Tesla Supercharger network is integrated into the Mercedes me Charge network, so ensure Mercedes me Charge service is active in the Mercedes-Benz app (Manage Digital Extras > Charging > Mercedes me Charge toggle switched to "Activated"). Next, confirm you have the adapter in the Mercedes-Benz app to locate and route to Supercharger stations. At the station, you can start a charging session through your vehicle's display, the Mercedes-Benz app, or by simply plugging in if your model supports Plug & Charge. Your vehicle may require a software update in order to be able to use Plug & Charge at Supercharger locations so please check with your dealer. Connect the adapter to the cable, then insert the adapter into your vehicle and the session will begin momentarily. Please be aware that Tesla policy prohibits the use of third-party adapters that are not sold or distributed by an automaker.

How do I locate Supercharger stations?

If you have a Mercedes-Benz Fast Charging Adapter, click on "Charging Status & Settings" in the Mercedes-Benz app, then toggle on "NACS Adapter" when prompted. Also make sure your Mercedes me Charge service is active. Your vehicle will now display NACS-equipped charging stations, including Supercharger stations, and Navigation with Electric Intelligence will automatically optimize your route to include charging station stops along the way.

Which Supercharger stations are accessible?

Not all Supercharger stations are accessible to Mercedes-Benz all-electric vehicles. Your vehicle's navigation display or Mercedes-Benz app will only display accessible stations once you've confirmed in the app that you have the NACS DC Fast Charging Adapter. The station details on your vehicle's display for stations that require an adaptor will show, "DC Fast Charging Adapter required. A Mercedes-Benz approved adapter is recommended."

Does the Supercharger cable reach my Mercedes-Benz EV?

In some cases, the cables at Supercharger stations may be too short to reach the charging port on your Mercedes-Benz EV. If this is the case, please obstruct as few stations as possible, do not park horizontally or diagonally. Drivers must NEVER use an EV extension cable to reach from the charger to the vehicle.

How do I get support for my adapter or charging issues?

Please contact your authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer if you are experiencing issues with your vehicle or adapter. If you have questions about the charging at Supercharger stations or your charging services, please contact Mercedes-Benz Customer Support 855-502-3851.
